Batavia Boardwalk Shops offer buyers a unique local holiday shopping destination

Find the perfect gifts and celebrate the holiday season at the Batavia Boardwalk Shops!

Open through Dec. 21 at 114 E. Wilson St., the shops give the community a chance to show its love for local businesses, offering a variety of unique products and a one-of-a-kind shopping destination. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays.

“This time of year, the Boardwalk Shops feel especially warm and festive,” said Beth Walker, Executive Director of Batavia MainStreet. “The shops are decorated for the season, the energy is high, and the small-business owners are excited to showcase their work. Shoppers enjoy discovering truly unique gifts, supporting local entrepreneurs, and experiencing the personal connection that comes from meeting the makers behind the products.”

Free Sundays with Santa and Mrs. Claus are available Dec. 14 and 21, giving families the perfect opportunity to make holiday memories.

“People want to visit because it’s not just shopping — it’s an experience,” Walker said. “The Boardwalk creates a cozy, walkable environment that invites people to slow down, explore and enjoy the charm of downtown Batavia during the holidays.”

A collaborative partnership between Batavia Main Street and the City of Batavia, the shops were built by volunteer crews, with two of the frames constructed by building trades students from Batavia High School. The local shopping aspect of the Boardwalk Shops is incredibly important, Walker said.

“Every purchase directly supports a local entrepreneur, keeps dollars in the community, and helps strengthen Batavia’s small-business ecosystem,” Walker said. “When people choose to shop at the Boardwalk, they’re not only finding great gifts — they’re investing in the future of local businesses and the continued vibrancy of our downtown”

Helping to make the Boardwalk Shops possible is Gerald Subaru of North Aurora.

“Gerald Auto Group’s support plays a vital role in sustaining and growing the Boardwalk Shops,” Walker said. “Their partnership helps keep the program accessible for emerging entrepreneurs, allowing more makers and small businesses to test, launch and expand their ideas.”

Gerald Subaru of North Aurora is proud to help support local businesses and entrepreneurship during the holidays through the Boardwalk Shops.

“The Boardwalk Shops have become such a special addition to Batavia, bringing even more charm to the downtown,” said Donna Lawler of the Gerald Auto Group. “Having them open during the holiday season adds a sense of joy and whimsy this time of year, and we love seeing the community discover all the unique finds.”
