Mount Prospect man charged in Des Plaines home burglary
A Mount Prospect man was arrested early Wednesday on allegations of breaking into a house in Des Plaines and after being confronted by a resident, police said.
Juamarius Rogers, 30, of the 700 block of Dempster Street, is charged with felony counts of criminal trespass to residence and criminal damage to property.
A resident of the 800 block of West Oakton Street discovered Rogers in his living room after hearing a loud noise shortly before 1 a.m., police said.
The resident escorted Rogers out of the house after he refused to leave on his own, police said. The homeowner, whom police said didn’t know Rogers, later discovered a broken window.
About an hour later, Rogers was picked up by police at a 7-Eleven store in the neighborhood. He matched the description of the intruder, the news release said.
Rogers was processed at the police station and then released.
