Woman charged after family fight in Palatine

A Chicago woman was charged in Palatine Friday night after a family fight, but police are assuring the public there is no threat to the community from the reported use of a weapon to which they initially responded.

Tianna Davis, 23, of the 4400 block of West End Avenue in Chicago, was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

Palatine officers received a 911 call shortly after 9:30 p.m. indicating there may have been a stabbing or shooting in the 300 block of North Carter Street. They immediately increased their patrol presence in the area.

The responding officers found an injured 18-year-old man and initiated medical care. He was taken to a hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

An investigation found no indication that a firearm was involved or any shots were fired, police said. The situation was determined to be a domestic physical fight between family members.

Davis was transported to the Leighton Criminal Court Building in Chicago to await a detention hearing.
