Woman dead after being struck by two vehicles in Buffalo Grove
A 74-year-old woman is dead after being struck by two vehicles while trying to cross Arlington Heights Road in Buffalo Grove Wednesday evening.
Authorities said the woman was trying to cross near the entrance to the Plaza Verde shopping center, just south of Dundee Road, when she was struck by two vehicles at 5:20 p.m.
Arlington Heights paramedics were first on scene and transported her to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead soon after arriving.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. No citations or charges have been issued.
Authorities are still withholding the woman’s name, but the Cook County medical examiner’s office Thursday ruled her death an accident from “multiple blunt force injuries” due to “motor vehicles striking pedestrian.”
Arlington Heights Road between Dundee Road and University Drive was closed for nearly four hours as part of the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
