JGSI talk will focus on online Holocaust genealogy research
Professional genealogist Kaye Prince-Hollenberg will look at the various resources available online for tracing Holocaust victims, survivors and displaced persons when she presents “Navigating Holocaust Resources Online” for the Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois online meeting.
RSVP at jgsi.org for the 2 p.m. lecture. This is an online only event, open to everyone who registers.
In this presentation, Prince-Hollenberg will explain how to navigate and piece together the records available from myriad sources including Yad Vashem, JDC, Arolsen Archives, USHMM, and smaller, regional repositories. She will also look at databases that include records related to concentration camps and ongoing efforts to document victims in towns and cities.
Prince-Hollenberg holds a Professional Learning Certificate Genealogical Studies from the International Institute for Genealogical Studies and a Master of Information degree from the University of Toronto. When she is not conducting research for clients, she spends her days as a librarian at a public library. She is on the board of directors of Gesher Galicia, and is the associate genealogist at the Holocaust Reunion Project.
Prince-Hollenberg’s research specialties include Jewish genealogy, Holocaust research, and genetic genealogy. She serves as director of education and DATO research associate at Gesher Galicia, volunteers as the JRI-Poland town leader for Korolówka and Zaleszczyki, and was the founding curator of the Margaret’s Legacy Holocaust Learning Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Her Substack, “Paper Trails with Kaye Prince-Hollenberg,” combines vintage recipes and genealogy research in an effort to reunite searchers with family recipes.
Prince-Hollenberg will be speaking remotely at 2 p.m. in this special meeting that will be open to everyone who registers to receive the Zoom link. Her talk will be preceded by a members only online discussion about Ancestry.com that requires separate registration for 1 p.m. Zoom access.
