Village of Arlington Heights seeks students to help older adults with snow removal

The village of Arlington Heights is looking for middle and high school students interested in helping older adults and residents with disabilities this winter by providing snow shoveling services.

Each year, the village compiles a list of local students who are willing to shovel snow for Arlington Heights residents aged 65 and older or those with disabilities. This program not only helps residents stay safe and independent during the winter months but also gives students an opportunity to earn money and make a positive difference in their community.

Students who wish to participate will have their first name, phone number or email address, and school name included on a list shared with eligible residents. Residents then contact students directly to arrange services, including pricing and scheduling.

Students typically charge between $20-$30 per hour and are expected to provide their own snow removal supplies.

Interested students can sign up at form.jotform.com/241834585702056 or by contacting the Arlington Heights Senior Center, at 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, or (847) 253-5532.

The service is available to Arlington Heights residents ages 65 and older or with a disability, who must register with this link: form.jotform.com/241834426475057

Residents only need to register once, and will receive updated lists of students by mid-November each year or as more students register to be on list.
