Schaumburg Township offers property tax appeal services, free seminar Oct. 21

Residents can appeal their Cook County property taxes at Schaumburg Township through Nov. 17 and attend a free property tax appeals seminar Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The seminar will be held at 6 p.m. at the Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 Professional Learning Center, 522 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. Attendees should enter the building through Door C1.

The township is open during the appeals period to assist residents from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates. The township has developed two appointment options for residents to complete appeals virtually or in-person.

To register for a virtual appointment, email appeals@schaumburgtownship.org. Include your home pin number, phone number, email and home address. This is the fastest and most convenient way to appeal — no visit to the office required. Emails must be received at least one hour before closing on the last day of appeals.

Residents also can come into the township, but e-mailing the appeal information is strongly encouraged. Bring your pin number, phone number, email and home address.
