See Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’ at The Venue for Halloween

The Venue in Aurora will present a free movie screening of “The Birds” in time for Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” is among the greatest and most well-known horror movies of all time.

Starring Tippi Hedren, Suzanne Pleshette and Rod Taylor, the classic Technicolor film is loosely based on a Daphne du Maurier short story of the same name. The movie was released in spring 1963.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 7 p.m. at The Venue, 21 S. Broadway Ave.

The free movie night is sponsored by A Wondrous Life, Jill Amoni Tribute. Attendees are invited to come in costume, and there will be Halloween candy for attendees.

“My mom loved Alfred Hitchcock movies, and her sharing those movies with me helped to spark my love of film,” said Marissa Amoni, who is the daughter of Jill Amoni. Jill died in May shortly after a uterine cancer diagnosis.

The Venue is a live music performance room located at 21 S. Broadway in downtown Aurora. The bar offers a wide selection of craft beer and other beverages which will be open.
