Letter: It ain't over till it's over
Late in the afternoon of Jan. 6, 2021, President Donald Trump finally understood that his last resort plan to overturn the results of a free and fair presidential election had failed.
Only then did he ask his invited and violent mob of supporters at the Capitol to go home.
Even then he held out hope that Republicans in Congress and in the Senate would later object to and obstruct the certification of the election.
In sum, a multifaceted and orchestrated coup attempt led by our former president was in the history books.
Americans must not let our guard down. Forces are already visible and active to ensure that the Republican presidential candidate "wins" in 2024, regardless of legally cast votes.
