Food truck engulfed by flames on I-90 in Hoffman Estates
A food truck caught fire Sunday morning on westbound I-90 near Hoffman Estates, forcing authorities to close the interstate’s lanes for more than an hour, Illinois State Police said.
Officials said state troopers responding at 9:40 a.m. to a report of a vehicle fire located the truck fully engulfed in flames on the right shoulder of the interstate near Roselle Road.
All lanes were closed while fire crews extinguished the blaze. After the fire was put out, the vehicle was towed from the roadway and all lanes were reopened at 11:04 a.m., state police reported.
Authorities did not provide information on injuries or whether citations were issued.
