Woman suffers serious injuries in Lake County crash

A woman suffered serious injuries when her car collided with a truck Saturday on I-94 in northern Lake County, Illinois State Police said.

Police said the woman was eastbound on the highway near Wadsworth at approximately 5:02 p.m. when her silver Chevrolet Equinox struck a blue Kenworth truck.

Police said the woman was extricated from the vehicle and rushed to a hospital, police said.

Lanes were closed for the investigation but have since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
