Concerts in the Park brings music, food and community spirit to Downtown Geneva
Live music, river views and summer nights will once again come together in downtown Geneva as the Geneva Park District’s Concerts in the Park series returns for another season this July.
A community favorite for more than 30 years, the concerts take place Wednesdays July 9-30 from 7-8:30 p.m. in River Park, 151 N. River Lane. The free outdoor concert series offers residents the chance to unwind midweek with family, friends and local tunes along the Fox River.
“Participants are invited to bring their lawn chairs, picnic blankets, friends and family along to recreate with us and celebrate the beauty of summer,” said Laura M. Sprague, Marketing & Sponsorship Manager for Geneva Park District. “River Park’s layout provides accessible trails, scenic views, plentiful parking and unique natural features that add to the atmosphere.”
The full lineup of concerts includes:
July 9: FeelGood Party Band
FeelGood is a fun, energetic, Chicago-based tribute band, playing favorite party jams from the ’60s to today.
July 16: Nashville Electric Company
Nashville Electric Company is a country party band — fun times, country music and country attitude!
July 23: Mr. Myers
Mr. Myers plays “Caribbean Rock”—a mixture of reggae, soca/calypso, beach music, and their own originals.
July 30: Dennis O’Brien Band
Dennis O’Brien Band plays classic covers with meaningful arrangements.
In addition to great music, a variety of beverages will be available for purchase, including both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options, with a rotating lineup of food trucks on site during each concert.
“This series reflects our vision at Geneva Park District: to provide recreational programs and open space which inspire residents to live their best life,” Sprague said. “We believe that music fosters social connection and provides a sense of community among individuals, and we are grateful to offer this experience year after year.”
Support from sponsors such as Gerald Hyundai help make Concerts in the Park free to attend.
“It is important for the park district to offer this event free to the community, and sponsors are our partners by providing financial support to help offset costs associated with this series,” Sprague said. “We are very grateful to our sponsors for their commitment to enhancing our community by bringing Concerts in the Park to Geneva.”
Gerald Hyundai is thrilled to take part in such a fun summer activity that brings people together and gives the community something to look forward to each week.
“We love being part of events that create lasting memories for local families,” said Donna Lawler of the Gerald Auto Group. “There’s something magical about live music on a summer night, and we’re proud to help make that experience possible.”
