Have coffee with cops from Lake Zurich, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods

Police from Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer will host a Coffee with a Cop from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Mariano’s Fresh Market, 1350 E. Route 22 in Lake Zurich.

Community members are invited to meet with police in an informal, neutral space to discuss issues and build relationships over coffee. Because the majority of public contact with law enforcement happens during emergency or emotional situations, the session allows for relaxed one-on-one interaction.

Similar events are being held across the country Oct. 1 as part of a national initiative to advance the practice of community policing by improving relationships.
