Luke Bryan and fans team up to provide 6,000 meals for hungry families in Northern Illinois
Country superstar Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour stop at Berning Family Farms in Prairie Grove, Illinois on Sept. 19, turned up more than great music this year — it also helped fight hunger in Northern Illinois.
As part of the “Take Care, Now” campaign with Bayer and Feeding America, Bryan asked fans via social media to bring canned goods or nonperishable food items to the show.
Concertgoers responded generously, donating a record-breaking 7,600+ pounds of foods, or two full truckloads — enough to provide more than 6,000 meals for neighbors facing hunger across Northern Illinois. The food drive supported Northern Illinois Food Bank’s mission to provide nutritious food so that every person in the region can thrive.
“As someone who grew up in a rural community, I know firsthand how important it is to have access to nutritious food,” Bryan said. “I couldn’t be prouder to bring this campaign to my Farm Tour, where fans can enjoy great music while supporting their community.”
The McHenry County stop was part of Bryan’s 2025 Farm Tour, celebrating 10 years of partnership between Bayer and Luke Bryan to support rural communities. The campaign continues to raise awareness of food insecurity and “hidden hunger,” while celebrating the vital role farmers play in feeding the nation.
Through the Take Care, Now campaign and the #HeresToTheFarmer social media initiative, Bayer will donate up to 1 million meals nationwide through Feeding America.
“At Bayer, we’re proud to play a vital role in helping people live healthier lives — whether that’s through the food they eat or the vitamins and supplements they take,” said Beth Roden, senior vice president communications, Bayer North America. “As a company rooted in both agriculture and self-care, we see the big picture when it comes to nutrition. And after 10 amazing years, we’re thrilled to keep partnering with Luke Bryan to support families, farmers, and rural communities across the country.”
“We’re so grateful to Luke Bryan, Bayer, and all the fans who showed up to support families in our community,” said Colleen Ahearn, chief philanthropy officer at Northern Illinois Food Bank. “This incredible generosity will help ensure our neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.”
