Fatal Buffalo Grove motorcycle crash under investigation

Buffalo Grove authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed an 18-year-old motorcyclist Friday.

Jeremi Klodzinski of Wheeling died in the collision with a pickup truck.

Police provided first aid at the crash scene until Klodzinski could be taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The pickup truck driver was not injured and is cooperating with authorities, police said.

“The cause of the crash has yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing, with no citations or charges issued at this time,” Buffalo Grove police officials said in a statement.

Multiple police units responded to the crash that occurred about 5:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Buffalo Grove Road at University Drive.

Police closed Buffalo Grove Road between Dundee Road and East Darryl Drive for four hours before reopening it at 10:25 p.m.

The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is helping with the probe.
