Antioch fire leaves house uninhabitable

No civilians or fire personnel were injured after a fire erupted on the 40000 block of North Gridley Road Sunday evening.

The Antioch Fire Protection district was called to a residential house fire at 4:54 p.m. to find smoke and fire coming from the rear of the building.

Crews worked for about two hours to extinguish the blaze and conduct overhaul operations to extinguish hidden fires. The house is uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire currently remains under investigation by the Antioch Fire Department, Lake Villa, Round Lake and New Port.
