Noah Gabriel’s ‘Inspirations’ exhibit featured at Marmion Academy

Noah Gabriel’s “Inspirations” exhibit is now on display through Oct. 28 in the Dr. Scholl Art Gallery at Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Road in Aurora. There will be a reception, with a musical performance, open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Inspirations” centers around musicians and people who have influenced the artist’s life and work. Every artist, no matter the trade, is constantly trying to both find and amplify their voice; an endeavor that demands a lifetime of inspiration.

Noah Gabriel, an Aurora native and veteran of the Fox Valley music scene, believes this wholeheartedly, and, in an effort to pay tribute to those who have influenced him and his music, he has spent the last 13 years developing a unique approach to portraiture.

Fascinated by the stark beauty of black and white photography he began his painting journey by playing around with only two colors: Paynes Grey (thinking it was black) and titanium white. Very quickly he found himself developing another voice filled with the echoes of those who crawled up on these canvases.
