DuPage County recorder to hold seminar on property research
DuPage County students, genealogists and history fans will have a chance to learn how to look up public documents and explore the county’s past during a free seminar in Wheaton.
The county recorder’s office will host a Property Research Seminar on Monday, Sept. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. The hands-on session will teach residents how to analyze property records, reference books and indexes to uncover the stories behind local parcels and neighborhoods.
“Public records are a powerful tool for understanding where we live,” DuPage Recorder Liz Chaplin said in a statement. “This seminar helps residents navigate our records confidently, whether they’re researching a home’s chain of title, tracing family history, or exploring the development of their community.”
