Brushstrokes & Beats: Mundelein Arts Festival returns Sept. 6-7
The 14th Annual Mundelein Arts Festival returns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7, at Courtland Commons in downtown Mundelein, at the northeast corner of East Courtland Street and Seymour Avenue.
This beloved community event will feature 50 juried artists showcasing paintings, photography, pottery, wood furnishings, jewelry, fiber arts, and other one-of-a-kind, handmade creations. Guests can browse and shop while enjoying live music by local musicians. Admission and parking are free, and food will be available for purchase.
“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to Courtland Commons, which gives us the space to showcase even more incredible talent,” festival founder and Event Chair Christa Lawrence said. “The Mundelein Arts Festival isn’t just about art, it’s about celebrating creativity, community, and the joy of discovering something beautiful you didn’t expect. Every year, I’m amazed at the variety and quality of work our artists bring, and I can’t wait for visitors to experience it.”
Artist booths will be set up on paved areas for easy accessibility. In addition to professional artists, the festival will highlight student artwork from Mundelein High School and Carmel Catholic High School in a dedicated Student Art Tent. With the support of Platinum Sponsor Mundelein McDonald’s, Gold Sponsor University of Saint Mary of the Lake, and Silver Sponsor Mundelein Automotive, scholarships will be awarded to students from each school. Scholarship recipients will be announced on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Families can also enjoy a Free Kids’ Craft Tent, where children can get creative. Festivalgoers can grab a bite from food vendors, while local musicians perform throughout the weekend.
The Mundelein Arts Festival is presented by Mundelein Community Connection and the Mundelein Park & Recreation District, who thank the many sponsors, artists and volunteers who make the event possible.
