Fremd High School junior wins consecutive martial arts championships
Fremd High School junior Adam Feng has once again showcased his dominance in martial arts, capturing nine gold medals this summer at the 2025 Presidential Wushu Cup and the seventh USA International Martial Arts Championships. These victories come just months after Feng’s four-gold-medal performance at the Golden State International Championship in May.
The July 5 Presidential Wushu Cup and the Aug. 2 USA International Martial Arts Championships drew hundreds of competitors from across the country and around the world. Facing elite practitioners, Feng demonstrated exceptional skill and artistry, earning top finishes in events such as Contemporary Long Fist, Traditional Eagle Form, Shaolin Straight Sword, Contemporary Spear, and Double Nine-Section Whips. Judges praised his balance of technical precision and expressive performance, noting his ability to connect traditional forms with modern athleticism.
“This victory is not just mine; it belongs to my coaches, teammates, and supporters who have stood by me,” Feng said after the competition. “Kung fu is more than a competition; it’s a lifelong journey of discipline and respect.”
Feng has trained since age 5 under Master Kaifei Song, a certified Elite Kung Fu Master, coach, and judge with more than 15 years of experience incubating champions at Soaring Eagle Kung Fu School in Palatine. Known for tailoring training to each student’s strengths and character, Master Song has helped cultivate not only Feng’s skills but also his resilience, confidence, and leadership.
