Trinity Lutheran Church delivers bicycles to families in need
Trinity Lutheran Church’s Good News Garage accepts donated vehicles and bicycles, repairs them, and delivers them to those in need. Recently, Exodus World Service has been connecting them with recent immigrants who have varying transportation needs so they can help provide a bicycle or car.
One family in need came from far away, from a country in the middle of Africa to a city in the middle of America. Husband, wife, and four sons, ages 20, 15, 8, and 5. They have been here since January and are settling in to their apartment at last. The oldest boy needed a bike to get to work full time and the 15-year-old needed transportation for his after-school job. The younger boys are kids who just need a bike to be kids.
At first, Good News Garage only had two adult bikes available, then another, and at the last minute the fourth came in. God provided according to the need. After adding training wheels to the last one, they were ready for delivery.
When Good News Garage came to deliver the bikes, the cousins all came out to share in the excitement. Jessie Campbell from Exodus World Service has been such a blessing in setting up the details and being there to interpret when needed. Pictures were taken, many hands were shaken, many thanks given, then they rolled back home with big smiles on their faces.
