Summer’s Last Hurrah will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Panton Mill Park, 9 N. Water St. in South Elgin. Admission is free. It will be held rain or shine. Bring a blanket or lawn chair; no coolers.

Stop by the Touch-A-Truck between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Gail Borden Library Bookmobile also will be on site. Climb aboard, register for your library card and check out books and other materials.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be the Craft Fair & Makers’ Market; Kids Fest with face painting, tattoos, sidewalk murals, bubbles, games, and more; and the Sponsors & Community Showcase.

The Jesse White Tumblers will be hitting the stage from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and the School of Rock also will be performing.

The costumed pet parade will be 4 to 5 p.m. The Electro Retro Dance Party will be 5 to 8 p.m.

The event will feature food trucks, bands, beverages, and fun for all.

Get tickets for the 50/50 raffle for $10 or three for $20. The winner need not be present. All proceeds support scholarships, youth leadership, and programs in Elgin and South Elgin.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support from community businesses and organizations. A big shoutout to our Stage and Gold Sponsors: St. Edward’s Catholic High School and Royal Coach Ltd. Automotive. As well as Silver Sponsors: Goebbert’s of Pingree Grove, Platt Hill Nursery, Holiday Inn NW, Gail Borden Public Library Friends, KCT Credit Union, Union National Bank, and Culver’s South Elgin. The Bronze sponsors are too numerous to list.

This event and friend-raiser will support the Rotary Club's community giving. Check out the full schedule, sponsor links, parking information, and more on the event page: www.Rotary5000.org.
