St. John’s celebrating a new school year, and a special milestone
As the new school year, St. John’s Lutheran Church, 115 N. Spring St. in Elgin, will take time during the 9 a.m. service on Sunday, Aug. 17, to install the faculty, staff, and school board of St. John’s Lutheran School.
It also brings a very special opportunity to honor Linda Childers, who is celebrating 25 years of joyful and faithful service to the Elgin school. She has been a steady, beloved presence in the lives of countless students and families. After the service, take a moment to thank her — and feel free to bring a card, note, or any token of appreciation you prefer.
