Aurora police looking for suspect after two people are shot
Aurora police are trying to locate a 24-year-old Aurora man after two people were shot, one hurt critically, Sunday morning, authorities said.
Police said they are seeking Aaron Conley in connection with the shooting. He is described as a Black male with short dreadlocks, brown eyes, 6-feet-1-inch tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing all-black clothing.
At approximately 6:08 a.m., Aurora police responded to a report of a shooting on the 500 block of Station Boulevard. Officers found two men near the basketball court, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics took the victims to a hospital for treatment. One victim is reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, while the second remains in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed this was an isolated incident between known acquaintances.
A firearm was recovered at the scene and there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public, police said. The suspect fled the scene, and law enforcement is actively searching for him, police said.
Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Bureau, along with Evidence Technicians, responded to the scene. They are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the incident and collect forensic evidence.
