Des Plaines District 62 board to honor teacher who died

A Des Plaines District 62 teacher who died last month will be memorialized during Monday’s board meeting.

A moment of silence will be held to honor Hisham Razeq, a multilingual teacher at North Elementary School. Razeq had been with the district for seven years.

Razeq was a beloved educator, district spokesperson Jennifer Bova said.

In an email to employees last month, Superintendent Michael Amadei called Razeq a dedicated teacher.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at Iroquois Community School, 1836 Touhy Ave.
