Bears offer $5,000 to cover Maine South flag football trip
The Chicago Bears have offered to donate $5,000 to help cover the costs of the Maine South High School girls flag football team’s recent trip to the NFL Flag Nationals in Ohio.
The Bears aren’t the only professional sports team showing interest in District 207 athletics.
Headfirst Companies has offered to donate $4,500 on behalf of the Chicago Cubs to the Maine West High School baseball program to fund field upgrades.
The Maine Township High School District 207 board will meet Monday night to consider accepting the donations and to discuss other business.
The meeting will follow a 6 p.m. budget hearing. It’ll be held at the district’s administration center, 1177 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge.
