Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center announces new executive director
The Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center has named a new executive director.
Sarah O’Donnell, who most recently served as CEO of Tri-Town YMCA in Villa Park, will take the helm of the nonprofit organization Aug. 1.
The resource center provides after-school tutoring and mentoring programs for under-resourced children in Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 and District 89 boundaries. The center also provides a summer academic enrichment program.
“I’m honored to be joining the brilliant team at GECRC and working together side-by-side with neighbors across the community to ensure all children in Glen Ellyn are able to reach their fullest potential,” O’Donnell said in an announcement of her appointment.
She also serves on the Milton Township Community Mental Health board and as president of the West Suburban Philanthropic Network. O’Donnell succeeds Leah Harding in the role.
“We're immensely grateful for six incredible years of Leah's dedication and leadership,” GECRC board President Alan Taylor said in a statement. “Glen Ellyn is a healthier and more vibrant community because of her work bridging the opportunity gap for under-resourced students.”
