Algonquin receives budget presentation award for 22nd consecutive year

For the 22nd consecutive year, the village of Algonquin has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

To receive the award, government entities must meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

Last year, Algonquin was one of 82 municipalities in Illinois recognized through the program. The fiscal year 2025-2026 budget is a balanced $85 million financial plan that includes $120 million in capital infrastructure investments over the next five years.
