Dogs swept by Lake Country
The Lake Country DockHounds capped a weekend sweep of the Chicago Dogs with Sunday’s 12-4 victory.
Dusty Stroup sent Chance Sisco home on an RBI double to open the scoring for the Dogs. The DockHounds answered quickly with a Daunte Stuart game-tying RBI. Derek Maiben had a sac-fly in the fourth, and Ray Zuberer III had a two-run single, making the score 4-1.
The Dogs rallied on a home run in the fourth inning by TJ Hopkins and an RBI single by Jacob Maiben. Trey Braithwaite made his Chicago Dogs debut in relief of John Baker, but the DockHounds scored twice in the top of the sixth, upping their lead to 6-3.
Stroup helped the Dogs stay in the game with a solo homer, but Aaron Hil hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to increase the DockHounds’ lead to 8-4.
