Elgin man charged with possessing child sex abuse materials
An Elgin man is accused of having child sex abuse materials and violating the Sex Offender Registration Act.
Jerry W. Pendry Jr., 36, is charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography and two felony counts of failing to inform authorities of an information change, according to a press release by the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.
Kane County State’s Attorney Jeremy Mosser said Pendry is accused of having multiple videos containing child sexual abuse material on Dec. 4, 2024.
Officials also said that Pendry, a sex offender, violated the Sex Offender Registration Act two times between May 12 and July 10 by failing to notify authorities that he was using instant messaging identities on social media platforms Kik and Discord.
Pendry was arrested on Thursday, July 10, after a search warrant was executed at a home on the 1900 block of Royal Boulevard in Elgin, according to the release. He is being held at the Kane County jail.
