Food trucks gathering in Des Plaines on July 22

Mobile chefs and foodies will gather in Des Plaines on July 22 for the summer’s first Food Truck Roundup.

The culinary event is set to run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Metropolitan Square complex, which is north of Miner Street and east of Lee Street.

Musician Justine Ewald will perform starting at 5:30 p.m., too.

People should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

The next roundup is Aug. 19 at Des Plaines Library Plaza, 1501 Ellinwood St.

A food truck rally that was scheduled for May was postponed due to bad weather. It’ll be held Sept. 9 at Rosemary S. Argus Friendship Park and Conservatory, 395 W. Algonquin Road.
