No one hurt in fire that gutted Lindenhurst home early Tuesday
A fire Tuesday morning in Lindenhurst completely gutted a recently built home, Lake Villa Fire Protection District officials said.
The home was a total loss, but no injuries were reported. One resident was home at the time of the fire, but was able to escape before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were called to the one-story, single-family home on the 800 block of Summer Lane at about 7:30 a.m.
Heavy fire was visible from the roof and the garage, fire officials said. It took nearly 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
Two adjacent homes sustained damage to siding, fire officials said.
The home was equipped with operating smoke detectors, officials added.
Damage was estimated in excess of $300,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
