St. Charles Arts Council hosting ‘Summerscapes’ art exhibit

The St. Charles Arts Council will hold an artists’ reception for “Summerscapes,” a juried art exhibit, on Saturday, July 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibit is running from July 11 to Sept. 7 at the Arts Resource Center, 121 N. Second St., Suite H in St. Charles.

Artists celebrate the coming of the summer season, by portraying the activities, fun times, and holiday events that bring people together, through a variety of media. “An artist's interpretation of summer environments, often characterized by vibrant colors and leisure activities.” All artwork is for sale.

Entries include both two- and three-dimensional artworks submitted by local artists and members. Awards will be given for Best in Show: $150; second place, $75; third place, $50; and honorable mentions as determined by the judge.

The exhibit is open to the public during normal gallery hours: 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
