Cardoso, Reese lead Sky past Los Angeles

Kamilla Cardoso score a career-high 27 points to lead the Chicago Sky past the Los Angeles Sparks 97-86 on Tuesday at Wintrust Arena.

Cardoso also grabbed seven rebounds for the Sky, who improved to 4-10. Her 12 points in the fourth quarter helped the Sky secure the win. Angel Reese earned her eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Her eight rebounds in the fourth quarter contributed to the Sky’s second win at home. She also added six assists and a season-high four steals. This was Reese’s second straight game with more than 15 rebounds.

Ariel Atkins added 13 points and five assists, rounding out the team’s double-digit scorers. This marks her 11th game this year scoring in double figures. Rachel Banham recorded eight points and four assists while Rebecca Allen tallied seven points and five rebounds.

The Sky also had significant bench contributions. Kia Nurse notched eight points while Hailey Van Lith and Elizabeth Williams each scored six points.

Los Angeles had four players in double figures as Azurá Stevens and Kelsey Plum led with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
