Glen Ellyn resident celebrates 101st birthday

​On May 17, Anni Erslovas rang in her 101st birthday at Maple Glen Memory Care, a senior living community, in Glen Ellyn.

In the United States, there are currently around 101,000 people who are 100 years old or older. This number is projected to quadruple over the next 30 years​.

Surrounded by friends, Anni received heartfelt handmade cards and warm wishes in celebration of a life richly lived.

Born in Germany, Anni later raised three children in the Chicago suburbs. Anni remains spirited and engaged, and still enjoys gardening, crafting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and her favorite music.
