Trump hatred hard to understand
I read letters to this paper with some amount of sadness. Something different has infected the people of this nation.
I sort of understand the political resistance of the Democrats and some Republicans to a businessman invading their sanctuary. He has different connections and alliances and he’s not beholden to any of theirs. What I don’t understand is the level of vitriol from people on the street.
We watched President Obama try to fundamentally change the country. We watched mentally incompetent Biden allow the country to be overrun by immigrants from around the world. But even then I never felt or saw the hatred that Trump receives.
I have lost friends who won’t talk to me because of my support of Trump. People who write to this newspaper. People who I’ve been friends with for 70 years.
I can see Trump’s flaws, but I could see Biden’s and Obama’s also. Is his family profiting now? They paid a heavy price during his first term. Let the politician who isn’t throw the first stone. Do his sweeping policies always work? Who’s do?
Are his rambling speeches self serving? Did Obama ever use the plural of “I”?
This is one country and we have some big problems. If we can agree on some, we will all be better off than by resisting everything and hating everyone on the other side. Suck it up, Buttercup, we have bigger problems than who’s in the White House
