Cougars beat Cleburne
The Kane County Cougars beat Cleburne 5-2 on Thursday at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva.
The Cougars’ Konnor Ash pitched seven innings, allowing just two earned runs on four hits, while striking out six.
The Cougars got to Railroaders starter Derek Craft with a run in the third inning. In the fourth inning, after Cleburne took the lead briefly 2-1, Kane County took a 3-2 lead. Claudio Finol singled in Nick Dalesandro for the lead.
After extending the lead to 5-2, the Cougars’ bullpen shut down the Railroaders. Logan Nissen and Jake Gozzo finished the game on the mound.
