Wildlife photographer to share Alaska birding stories at June 14 luncheon
The Rebecca Circle at Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake is planning a special salad and dessert luncheon on Saturday, June 14.
There will be a “Birding Adventure” presentation with wildlife photographer Jackie Bowman. She will share stories and photos from St. Paul Island, part of the Pribilof Islands and a remote gem in the Bering Sea 300 miles off the Alaskan coast. The adventure continues to Utqiagvik, formerly known as Barrow, the northernmost point in the United States. Birders from around the world gather there to spot rare migrants in an awe-inspiring landscape.
Community members and guests are welcome. Grace members will provide the salads and desserts.
The luncheon will begin at noon at the church, 5N600 Hanson Road, St. Charles. The reservation deadline is June 11. Reservations are required by calling the church at (630) 365-6751 with your name, phone number, and number of guests, or text info to Twyla Strom at (847) 977-5891.
A freewill offering will support the Rebecca Circle outreach fund.
It will be presented by Jackie Bowman, vice president of Kane County Audubon and member of the Illinois Audubon Society, along with Nancy Schnaitman, secretary of Kane County Audubon and fellow member of the Illinois Audubon Society.
The Rebecca Circle is a faith-based women’s group that was formed to assist in the ministries of the church through hospitality and outreach programs.
