Des Plaines teen arrested after shots fired at vehicle, police say
A Des Plaines teenager is facing charges after firing a handgun at a moving vehicle in that suburb, authorities said Monday.
Freddie Reynoso, 18, of the 9300 block of Bay Colony Drive, was arrested and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
The shooting occurred about 4 p.m. Friday on the 1800 block of Ash Street. No one was hurt, police said.
Reynoso got out of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, shot at a car headed north on Ash Street and then fled on foot, police said in a news release.
The pickup truck was registered to Reynoso’s mother. Reynoso surrendered to police Friday night, according to the release.
Reynoso told investigators he was involved in a dispute with the driver of the other auto, according to the release.
A Glock .40 caliber pistol believed to be used in the shooting was recovered in a backpack in a friend’s home, police said.
Reynoso appeared in court for a detention hearing over the weekend and is next scheduled to be in court Friday, police said.
