Poverty and priorities

Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin recently proudly announced a $14 million expansion. The Chicago Bears want to build an $800 million stadium in Arlington Heights. The Bears, of course, already have a stadium in Chicago. The sale of a $4.5 million house in some Chicago suburb was recently announced in the newspapers. Several countries on this planet have stockpiles of multi-million-dollar nuclear warhead missiles. Several countries! Why are there poor and hungry people in the United States of America? Why are there poor and hungry people anywhere on this planet?
