St. Charles street rehabilitation project gets underway
The city of St. Charles 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project is expected to begin the first week of June with utility structure point repair and replacement work in various locations around town.
Concrete replacements and road work will start toward the middle of June. Nearly 13.8 miles of roadway throughout the city will be improved. Construction is divided into three phases:
• Phase I: Utility, sidewalk, curb, and driveway repairs
• Phase II: Street rehabilitation work, including pavement grinding, patching, fresh oil, and new asphalt pavement
• Phase III: Parkway restoration and permanent pavement marking installation
More information, including an interactive map of the scheduled work with a complete list of streets, and regular construction updates, is on the city’s 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project web page at stcharlesil.gov.
Residents on the streets scheduled to be resurfaced have received a letter in the mail from the public works department with additional information. The entire project is expected to be completed by early October 2025.
