Man arrested on warrant had methamphetamine, Des Plaines police say

A Romeoville man was carrying methamphetamine when he was arrested Wednesday on a warrant in Des Plaines, police said.

Justin Rice, 38, of the 400 block of Laurel Avenue, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine.

Rice was arrested about 6:30 a.m. at a gas station on the 1200 block of South Lee Street. Police had gone to the station to check on the health of a woman there, according to a news release.

Rice was wanted by the Will County sheriff’s office on an unspecified warrant, police said. The drugs were found in a pocket when he was searched following his arrest.

He subsequently was turned over to Will County authorities.
