Local photographer to exhibit at prestigious London Biennale

Naperville, IL — Alicia Staley Johnson, an acclaimed fine art and portrait photographer based in the Chicago area, has been selected to exhibit her work at the London Biennale, a prestigious international art event showcasing leading creative talents from over 60 countries.

The exhibition will take place July 16-20, 2025, along the historic King’s Road in Chelsea, one of London’s most iconic cultural destinations.

Staley Johnson’s selected piece, “Golden Elegance,” is a still life composition that blends classical technique with personal symbolism. Featuring heirloom books passed down through generations in her family, the image invites viewers to contemplate beauty, legacy, and the quiet richness of time. The piece is part of her growing body of work inspired by Old Master paintings and European aesthetics.

The London Biennale is a museum-level, curated exhibition organized by the International Confederation of Art Critics, the Chianciano Art Museum, and the Gagliardi Gallery. The event is held every two years and is known for highlighting both established and emerging voices in the global art community.

“I’m honored beyond words to be part of this exhibition,” Staley Johnson said. “To be included among world-renowned artists on an international stage is a dream come true — and a deeply personal milestone. I only recently began submitting my fine art work for public consideration after years of hesitation, and this moment feels like a beautiful affirmation that it’s never too late to say yes to your dreams.”

At 59, Alicia Staley Johnson is experiencing a creative renaissance. Over the past year alone, she has exhibited work in Barcelona, been featured in Create! Magazine, and is preparing for an artist residency in the South of France.

In addition to her fine art practice, she is the founder of Alicia’s Photography, an award-winning studio specializing in family, senior, and engagement photography, with a newly opened Parisian-inspired creative studio in Naperville.
