Editorial misstates paper’s ‘independence’
The Daily Herald’s editorial opinion for May 2 is so sad it is almost funny. Frequently I’ve seen letters stating that the Herald was more left or more right and you try to virtue signal that you are independent. It’s quoted in your article — “the availability of independent, fact-based news for vast swaths of America’s population.” If only the mainstream media and the Herald were independent and looked at and reported all the facts. Then maybe you’d have an approval rating above 30%.
AP, the NY Times and Washington Post are the worst and that is whose articles you publish. And then when you publish this opinion piece you show that you agree with them 100%. All of this is pointed toward Trump. Recently, he passed 100 days in office, and the articles you posted wrote nothing but the negatives. I do not agree with everything this administration is doing, but certainly there are some positives — protecting the border (without a congressional bill), attempting peace talks in Ukraine and the Mideast vs. giving more money for more killing, identifying and cutting waste and fraud, cutting the size of government and spending (how else can we lower our nearly $2 trillion deficit?), trying to keep our current tax cuts and cut taxes for others — no tax on tips or overtime, protecting girls and women in sports and religious freedom.
There’s lots more. And the most frustrating thing is you never address the complaints of the right in any of your opinions. You just double down and pour more fuel on the fire.
