Batavia Farmers’ Market celebrates 30th season with new vendors, family fun

The Batavia Farmers’ Market returns May 17, celebrating a major milestone this year as it returns for its 30th outdoor season with nearly 60 vendors, special activities and a renewed focus on community connection.

“Visitors to this year’s Batavia Farmers’ Market can expect a vibrant, community-focused experience filled with fresh, locally grown produce, freshly baked breads, farm-raised meats, and more,” said Kristen Desler, Assistant Director of Batavia MainStreet. “My favorite part of the market season is seeing the streets of downtown Batavia come alive. There’s something really special about watching shoppers stroll through the Farmer’s Market, exploring not just the vendor booths but also popping over to the Batavia Boardwalk Shops, downtown boutiques, restaurants, wineries and breweries.”

Set for Saturdays through Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon on North River Street between Wilson and Spring streets, the market is operated by Batavia MainStreet as part of its mission to support local producers and enhance the downtown experience. New vendors this year include Rustic Road Farm, River Valley Ranch, and Pasta Bar, joining longtime favorites such as Flat Tire Farm, Fox Flower Farm, Stamper Cheese and Gindo’s Spice of Life.

“One standout feature is the return of the Artisan Collective, appearing on the third Saturday of each month,” Desler said. “This pop-up experience brings in around 50 additional vendors, showcasing local makers and creatives with everything from original art and handmade jewelry to vintage treasures — adding a boutique-style flair to the market.”

Families can also enjoy a Kids’ Tent, offering free, hands-on activities each week.

“Hosting the Farmers’ Market each year is about so much more than fresh produce — it’s about connection, community, and supporting the local economy,” Desler said. “It creates meaningful opportunities for small businesses and local growers to connect directly with customers.”

As a Presenting Sponsor, Gerald Subaru of North Aurora’s support plays a key role in the success of the Farmers’ Market, Desler said.

“Gerald’s commitment enables us to not only operate a high-quality market, but also to create a welcoming and inclusive space where Batavia residents and visitors can gather, connect, and enjoy the best of our community,” she said. “Now more than ever, our small businesses need community support. Gerald’s sponsorship helps us shine a spotlight on what makes Batavia truly special — its talented makers, one-of-a-kind shops, and beautiful riverfront setting.”

Donna Lawler of the Gerald Auto Group said Gerald Subaru of North Aurora is proud to be a Batavia Farmers’ Market Presenting Sponsor.

“We’re proud to help strengthen community ties and support the local economy,” Lawler said. “Backing local businesses and events like the Farmers’ Market is one way we can contribute to the energy and spirit that make Batavia such a special place.”
