Bartlett native serves with U.S. Navy JAG Corps in Guam

Lt. Charles Moore, a native of Bartlett, serves with the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps attached to Victim's Legal Counsel Program Western Pacific Naval Base Guam.

Moore is a 2013 graduate of South Elgin High School. Additionally, Moore graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2019 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence and from Northern Illinois University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in political science, a minor in English and a certificate in women's and gender studies.

“The biggest lesson I learned is one that the Navy has been preaching for a long time: people are what matter,” Moore said. “As someone who was adopted, I know that family is more than just blood; it's the family that raised me like one of their own. It's the neighbors who helped take care of me before school or that helped coach me in sports; it's the lifelong friends I made in school.”
