Special meeting Tuesday on first-of-its kind residential development proposal in Hawthorn Woods

A special meeting of Hawthorn Woods’ planning, building and zoning committee will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Church St., Lake Zurich.

The session is a continuation of the hearing held April 8 involving the proposed Kemper Ridge subdivision.

M/I Homes of Chicago LLC is proposing to annex 56 acres and is seeking variances for 58 single-family homes, 52 duplexes and 94 townhouses between Route 22 and Old McHenry Road east of Kemper Lakes Golf Club.

The mix of residential uses is considered a first-of-its kind development in Hawthorn Woods.
