What’s the good in mass deportations?

The Herald reported the GOP wants to spend billions in its efforts to deport 1 million migrants. Have you ever asked why? They’re here illegally. I get that. Deport murders, rapists. Get that, too. But a million? Many have been here a long time. Work, pay taxes cause no trouble. They might be your neighbor or co-worker. Deport them? What do we gain as a country?
