Neighborhood Food Pantries’ 5k family fun run in a new location

With the help of people in the community, Neighborhood Food Pantries fed nearly 250,000 hungry neighbors across the six pantries in DuPage County in 2024.

Continue to make a difference for these local families by participating in the annual “Shopping Cart Shuffle: Let’s Run Hunger Out of Town!” on Saturday, June 21, at the Carol Stream Town Center as they have moved the race to the Ross Ferraro Archway in 2025.

Join this chip-timed, family-friendly 5K walk or run, plus a 100-yard Kids’ Dash to help feed our hungry neighbors. To register, visit neighborhoodfp.org/events.

Founded in 1999, Neighborhood Food Pantries has provided food security to neighbors in need for 25 years. Funds raised from this 5K event will be utilized to continue providing healthy food to the growing number of families and individuals visiting the pantries each week.

The race will start and finish at the Ross Ferraro Archway on Gary Avenue in Carol Stream. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Kids, age 10 or under, run for free in the 100-Yard Kids’ Dash, starting at 8:15am. Race entry includes: Neighborhood Food Pantries 5k T-shirt, a race bib, and a post race snack, including ice cream!

T-shirts and race packets may be picked up on June 20, 2025, at Dick Pond Athletics, 26W515 St. Charles Road in Carol Stream or on race day. No packets will be mailed.

Cost for the 5K is $40. Participants must be registered by June 1 to be guaranteed size/shirt.
