Wheaton North Theatre presents ‘The Sound of Music’ April 24-26
This spring, Wheaton North High School Theatre is putting on “The Sound of Music,” the beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein classic that has captured hearts for generations.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Austrian Alps on the eve of World War II, this timeless tale follows Maria, played by Elisabeth (Ellie) Durbin, who brings joy and music back into the lives of the Von Trapp family (played by Adam Humecki, Ella Klein, David Hume, Samantha Durbin, Marlowe Moreno, and Amelia Kasztelan).
Featuring classic songs like “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Edelweiss,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” this production promises laughter, love, and powerful moments of courage and hope. With a talented student cast, dazzling costumes, and a live orchestra, “The Sound of Music” is an event for the whole family you won’t want to miss.
Performances will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24; 7 p.m. Friday, April 25; and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the Wheaton North Taylor Auditorium, 701 W. Thomas Road in Wheaton.
